Woman Killed in Truck Collision on Washington Highway
BELLEVUE, Washington – A semi truck accident on SR-520 in Washington has left one woman dead.
The crash occurred around 4 a.m. on SR-520. A woman had stopped her car in the left westbound lane of the highway and had her lights off when she was hit by a Cedar Grove compost truck.
The impact of the collision caused the car to spin around and face east. When the compost truck driver stopped to exchange information, the woman sped off in the wrong direction without turning on her lights.
Her car was then hit by a double-trailer dump truck head on. Authorities suspect the woman was killed instantly in the crash.
Although there is currently no direct explanation for the woman’s erratic behavior, police suspect she was under the influence of alcohol. The woman has yet to be identified.
The westbound lanes of the highway were closed at the scene of the accident.
