Truck Driver Killed in Collision Identified
MARYLAND – The truck driver involved in a fatal crash on Wednesday has been identified by police.
The incident occurred on Wednesday around 4:15 p.m. and left a section of Rockville Pike closed down for nearly eight hours. A southbound Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck had crossed the median of Rockville Pike and collided head-on with a northbound Metrobus. The truck driver was killed in the accident.
Police identified the truck driver as Nkonou Ayaovi Edorh, 49, of Silver Spring. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
Edorh was alone in the vehicle when the incident occurred. Two people were seriously injured, including the bus driver, Lennitta L Bryant, 41, of Silver Spring, who remained hospitalized as of Friday. A total of eight people aboard the bus had to be transported to hospitals.
