Truck Accident Causes a Splash

CALIFORNIA – A truck accident in California resulted in quite a splash after emergency crews rescued the driver from a water-filled ditch on the side of a roadway.

The truck accident occurred just after 4:30 p.m. Friday. California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on eastbound Highway 37 at Skaggs Island Road involving a white Ford pickup truck and a black Mercedes Benz.

The impact from the accident caused the truck to go into the water on the side of the road and emergency crews had to tow the victim out.

The truck driver sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the Mercedes Benz was unharmed.

Neither driver was cited for the incident. CHP officers do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved in the truck accident.

Officers had to shut down eastbound Highway 37 for a short period of time, causing minor traffic delays.
