Man Dies after Car Falls off Bridge in Dump Truck Collision

FORT WRIGHT, Kentucky – Authorities are investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Wednesday involving a dump truck.

According to witnesses, a car was hit by a dump truck on eastbound I-275, sending the vehicle over the bridge just after 6 p.m. The dump truck had been heading east on the roadway when the driver, Aaron Taylor, 30, of Sardina, failed to notice a merge sign and hit the other car, which was being driven by John Noe, 61 of Batavia, sending it over the bridge.

Witnesses tried to help but it was clear that the victim had died from the impact. People couldn’t get the door open so they tried to pull the victim out through the trunk, but the car began to smoke. By the time Air Care arrived, Noe was dead.

The truck accident is currently under investigation. Police have not said whether charges will be filed against Taylor.
