Highway Lanes Reopen Following Truck Crash in Charlestown
Hours after a tractor-trailer hauling clay overturned on a Charlestown highway, the southbound lanes have reopened.
The truck accident took place on the inbound lower deck of I-93 in Charlestown, stalling traffic for several hours.
“There is clay all over the roadway. Diesel fluid and hydraulic fluid also spilled on the road,” said state police trooper Thomas Murphy of the wreckage.
Murphy explained the crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. this morning. Lanes were closed but reopened as of 8:30 a.m. Luckily, no other vehicles were involved.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to Mass General Hospital for treatment.
The incident is still under investigation.
