Driver of Big Rig Dies Following Crash

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nevada — A crash involving a big rig Monday afternoon has led to the death of one unidentified person.

The incident occurred at the runaway truck ramp near the intersection of highways 431 and 28 on Lake Tahoe’s North Shore just before 3 p.m. The truck was hauling lumber and other items when it was speeding and struck the ramp.

The crash caused the load to go through the cab, killing the driver.  It took emergency crews several hours to extricate him from the truck.

Police have yet to release the name of the victim. No one else was injured in the truck crash.
