Couple Dies in Truck and Train Collision

MONTREAL – A truck accident on Wednesday in Montreal has left a couple dead.

Police are investigating an accident involving a pickup truck that allegedly skid off a westbound overpass that is part of Ste. Anne de Bellevue Blvd., fell on a set of rail tracks, and was then hit by a Via passenger train.

The victims were identified as Luigino and Parissi, both 55-years-old.

The incident occurred at around 2:10 p.m. The couple died at the scene of the accident but there have been reports that someone dialed 911 from within the truck before the impact with the train.

Police have not identified the cause of the accident yet but believe the weather may have been a factor. It was snowing when the accident occurred.
Authorities have not released all the details of the incident out of respect for the family of the deceased.
