The accident occurred at Brunswick Blvd. and Bancroft St. in Dollard des Ormeaux, Montreal Tuesday at around 6 a.m. According to authorities, a Molson beer delivery truck and another tractor-trailer crashed into each other. One of the trucks then hit a lamppost and then crashed into three parked cars.
Montreal police Constable Raphaël Bergeron said the collision happened by accident and was not either truck driver’s fault.
“Both had the green light but one of the truck drivers turned and didn’t make it in time,” said Bergeron.
Neither of the drivers are expected to be charged.
Truck accidents such as this one occur more frequently than anyone would like to believe, however, unlike this one, most are the direct result of the truck driver’s negligence. Oftentimes, the truck driver is tired and falls asleep at the wheel, speeds in order to get to their destination on time, or may even drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
